Not legal advice
Nothing on this site is legal advice. It describes conduct and disposition in decided matters and states a professional method. Whether any of it applies to your situation is a question for counsel admitted in your jurisdiction.
No characterization of holdings
Entries in the case record state what a professional did and what a tribunal did. They do not characterise what a decision means, what it stands for, or how it would apply elsewhere. That restraint is deliberate, and it is the reason the record can be maintained honestly over time.
Not a substitute for the primary document
Every entry points at a document. Read the document. A summary — including one written carefully — is not the thing itself, and the book makes that argument at length.
Not a directory or a rating service
This site does not rate, rank, endorse, or recommend experts, firms, tools, or vendors, and it accepts no payment for inclusion.
No professional relationship
Reading this site, writing to it, or adopting the Standard creates no engagement and no duty. Correspondence through this site is not confidential and should not contain case-specific material.
